Talkin’ Throwbacks

With the Warriors bidding adieu to the Oakland digs at Oracle Arena, the Warriors content team and Mitchell & Ness elevated the nostalgic days of Run TMC and the We Believe squad to highlight fans who’ve been there from the beginning. Taking this approach, we leaned into the following observations to highlight how special Warriors fandom is:

  • Oakland/Bay Area fans cherish their underdog years, including the abysmal bottom-dwelling teams.

  • Validate their fandom by wearing their oldest Warriors gear.

  • Identified nostalgia and 90s inspired apparel as key factor as a separate

Fan’s recanted their favorite moments and recalled their favorite players which were highlighted alongside memorable clips that tie back into the Mitchell & Ness brand. This led to an increase in apparel spend by 15% throughout the last 3 month of the 2019 season.
